NeutraNarc is an advanced, eco-friendly drug disposal system that neutralizes both DEA-controlled (Schedule I-V) and non-controlled medications. Designed for healthcare, law enforcement, sanitation services, and households, it ensures safe, compliant, and irreversible drug deactivation.
A biobased product is a “commercial or
industrial product (other than food or feed) that is:
- Composed, in whole or in significant part, of biological products, including renewable domestic agricultural materials, renewable chemicals, and forestry materials; or
- An intermediate ingredient or feedstock”
Biobased content differentiates between “new” organic carbon (plant or agricultural-based), like a tree and
“old” organic carbon (fossil fuel-based), like coal.
Yes, NeutraNarc is the only drug disposal product that is a USDA Certified Biobased Product. The NeutraNarc suspension is 96% biobased.
NeutraNarc uses a patent-pending, plant-based activated carbon formula to deactivate drugs quickly and safely. Medications are placed into the solution, where they are rendered irretrievable within hours, preventing drug diversion and environmental contamination.
NeutraNarc is effective on a wide range of medications, including:
- Pills, tablets, capsules
- Liquid medications
- Transdermal patches
- Creams, ointments, suppositories
- DEA Schedule I-V controlled substances
Improper disposal of medications can lead to drug diversion, accidental ingestion, and environmental pollution. Flushing drugs or throwing them in the trash can contaminate water systems, harm wildlife, and pose public health risks. NeutraNarc provides a safe and compliant solution.
NeutraNarc offers several key advantages:
- Fast Deactivation – Neutralizes drugs in hours, not days.
- Biodegradable Formula – Eco-friendly, plant-based, and pending USDA BioPreferred certification.
- No-Shake Formula – Ensures uniform suspension for consistent deactivation.
- Odor Control – Reduces foul chemical smells common in other products.
- Regulatory Compliance – Meets DEA, EPA, and OSHA standards for safe disposal.
Yes. Hospitals, long-term care facilities, and clinics handle large volumes of controlled substances and require compliant drug disposal. NeutraNarc provides a cost-effective, easy-to-use solution for healthcare professionals to safely dispose of unused medications while meeting DEA compliance requirements.
Independent testing confirmed that hydromorphone was only detectable at a low level (<10%) 2 hours after it was added to NeutraNarc and that separation of the activated carbon from the solvent proved to be extremely difficult due to the viscosity of the product. The activated carbon becomes very gummy when separated from the solvent and thus it would be a difficult medium to attempt to recover any drug captured by or filtered with the carbon.
Absolutely. Law enforcement agencies need reliable drug disposal for confiscated narcotics and evidence destruction. NeutraNarc ensures DEA-compliant, non-retrievable deactivation, reducing the risk of drug diversion.
Pharmaceutical waste is increasingly found in drinking water and surface water supplies, leading to environmental and public health concerns. Unlike flushing or traditional disposal methods, NeutraNarc’s biodegradable formula prevents medications from entering water systems, protecting wildlife, aquatic ecosystems, and human health.
No. NeutraNarc is ready to use—simply add the medication, close the container, and let the solution neutralize the drugs. No water, shaking, or additional steps are required.
NeutraNarc complies with DEA (non-retrievable standard), EPA, and OSHA guidelines, ensuring that pharmaceuticals are deactivated safely and in accordance with federal and state regulations.
NeutraNarc is available in multiple sizes to accommodate different users:
- Healthcare Facilities & Law Enforcement – Bulk containers for high-volume drug disposal.
- Households – Compact, easy-to-use versions for home medication disposal.
- Law Enforcement – Secure disposal solutions for confiscated narcotics and evidence destruction.
NeutraNarc begins working immediately and achieves full deactivation within hours—much faster than traditional carbon-based disposal systems, which can take up to 28 days.
